Festive Season, Amritsar's Dhaba Food

Diwali's just got over. Hope all of you had a festive start to November. It's the month of festivals, holidays and for me, lots of traveling. The year 2013 didn't bring me too many tours but startlingly towards the end, it looks like I will be traveling a lot more frequently all the way till May 2014. Exciting challenges ahead for the entire team at Axess Legal Corp, lots of work coming up for us and many meetings to attend.

Flip side is this: Will be frequently away from home and especially from my son, who finds it very difficult (and vice versa) when I am not around to play cricket and other rough games with him. He's at that age when he wants to act like a man and idolizes all that I do. It's tough every time to leave him behind but there's no greater satisfaction than seeing his eyes light up with absolute joy when he sees that I am back home. Till the next weekend, that is!

Travel, for me, is more like a culture and food trail. Amritsar is perfect for this. Here's one delicious Amritsar dhaba thali that I quite enjoyed.

What's the festive season been like for you? Are you all set to ring in 2014? Tell me about it...or better still, lets trade New Year resolutions next!

Thanks for this post. Long time No see. Where were you?

We were in Amritsar last year. Loved the dhaba in addition to the regular touristy places. On the one side I feel sorry for you and your son. On the other side, being busy and traveling a lot means mucho dinero.

Thanks SG for sharing your thoughts. It's been so hectic that sitting down to write a blogpost seemed beyond me during the last couple of months though I had enough material and topics that I would like to have written about.

Yes, I know what you mean. I don't like being away from my son but things have just got very challenging for me on the work front and there is so much to accomplish in so little time. The good thing, however, is that technology makes it easy to connect and converse with loved ones than it was two decades ago.

How are things at your end? What plans for the New Year? Convey my warmest regards to your family.

Yes. Technology makes us easy to connect with our loved ones. We usually go on vacation twice a year. During summer and during Thanksgiving (last week of November). This year we are planning to visit the newly built BAPS Swami Narayan Mandir in Southern California. Built at a cost of more than $100 million and supposed to be one of the largest Hindu temple in the world. The purpose of our visit is sightseeing. We are religious. But not that much religious.

Thank God, did not go to Venice, Italy, for the umpteenth time.

New Year? To tell you the truth, we stay home just by ourselves. Only during New Year eve, amateurs get drunk and drive in the streets. Us professionals – No—me professional stay at home and watch the born of new year on television.
